When someone says they love me, I'll say "yep."
When asked what I'm thinking, I'll say "nothing."
When someone says I'm odd, I'll agree.

And they always ask why.

Sometimes I don't sleep for days, even a week.
Sometimes my thoughts don't stop, its problematic.
Sometimes I mumble to myself, in public.

And they always ask why.

Well heres the reason, my idea of an excuse.
This is my easily deniable truth.
I am slightly dysfunctional and am missing parts.
I am not a particularly great talker.
I don't understand the need for undue noise.

Because I am me, I'll always answer,
swiftly, casually, and sometimes with a stutter or slur:

"Why not?"
